Winter Fairyland

Bella does not let a snowstorm slow her rabbit hunt down one bit. She is still convinced somewhere near the porch lies a hole leading to a family of bunnies. Her OCD search meant she was missing out on the beauty of a winter fairyland. Snow crusted branches drooped with the weight of a freezing rain. It was quite the Kodak moment.

The horrific tragedy of Friday's school shooting has left us all drained and wondering why and how can something so horrible happen to innocent children, their teachers and principal. The past two days I have read about the efforts of different organizations and people who are pulling together to try to  make a difference. One creative and heartwarming idea in Minneapolis is called Smiles for Sandy Hook.
CBIG is sponsoring a Minnesota Children's Art Project in support of the children at Sandy Hook Elementary next Saturday.  Children will gather with parents and create art projects that will be sent to Sandy Hook Elementary students.
Another campaign I've heard lots of conversation about is the concept Pay it Forward. Recently a lady was going through a coffee drive and paid for drinks ordered in the car behind her. What a great idea and something so easy we could do in a similar situation.
Perhaps this holiday season we can think of different ways to make a difference in someone else's life. Starting small is good :)  Maybe doing random acts of kindness will make us feel better.

  1. Both are excellent ideas. Kindness can go a long way in touching hearts.
