Boston

It took us two subways and one bus to reach the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum but it was well worth it. Figuring out what ticket was needed, what line to go on and how to pay for the subway was the most challenging part of our day :) What an adventure. The museum was an educational and enlightening experience. It is here you can experience first hand JFK's life, legacy and leadership. There are three theaters, period settings and 25 dramatic multimedia exhibits to help you enter the re-created world of JFK.

I was impressed first with the location of museum.  It is located on Columbia Point in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, next to the Boston campus of the University of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Archives. It was designed by the architect I. M. Pei.

The building is the official repository for original papers and correspondence of the Kennedy Administration, as well as special bodies of published and unpublished materials, such as books and papers by and about Ernest Hemingway. The library and museum were dedicated in 1979 by President Jimmy Carter and members of the Kennedy family. 

The library has a fantastic view of the Boston skyline, across the Boston Harbor.

There was a lot of memorabilia from the democratic convention.  

There were exhibits showing the impact of Jacqueline Kennedy during the years of JFK's presidential administration and her focus on the arts. I enjoyed reading several of Jacqueline's poems written during her grade school years.

If  you are ever in the Boston area be sure to put the JFK Presidential Library on your list of places to visit.
