Strawberry Blueberry Cream Pie

Cook's Notes: A slice of pure summer bliss with juicy strawberries and blueberries. Raspberries can be substituted for the strawberries. The cream filling is nestled in a crunchy cookie almond crust. YUM! YUM! Recipe from Star Tribune July 13, 2017 by Beth Dooley
For best taste serve the same day it is made. 
Cookie Almond Crust Ingredients: 

• 2-1/2 cups finely crushed vanilla wafers
• 1 cup sliced almonds 
• 1 TB. Saigon cinnamon
• 5 TB. melted butter
• 1 TB. sugar

Cookie Almond Crust Directions:

• Use  food processor to crush vanilla wafers. Add in cinnamon, sugar, almonds and melted butter. Mix well. 
• Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Pat crumbs into pie pan. Bake 6 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Cream Filling Ingredients:

• 1 cup heavy cream
• 1 cup plain Greek Yogurt
• 2 tsp.vanilla
•  1 TB. honey
• assorted berries

Cream Filling Directions:

• In a medium bowl whip the cream until it forms stiff peaks. Whip in yogurt, vanilla and honey to taste on low speed. 
• Place filling in cooled crust. Arrange berries on top. Refrigerate until serving. 

"Ice Cream" or "I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream" is a popular song, first published in 1927 with words & music by Howard Johnson, Billy Moll, and Robert King. After initial success as a late 1920's novelty song, the tune became a traditional jazz standard, while the lyrics refrain "I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream" has remained a part of popular culture even without the rest of the song.

Friendly's: For every $2.99 Friend-z ice cream order on Sunday, Friendly's will donate $2 to the Boys & Girls Club of America. Customers who purchase a Friend-z on Sunday will also get a coupon good for a free ice cream in the future.
