On The Road

Part Eleven:

"I have been singing all the way here in the car...Do You Know The Way To San Jose?

The car ride from Palm Springs to here was rather eventful. The 437 mile ride produced more weather changes in one day then I have ever seen at home. There was rain, snow, dense fog and sunshine. The sheer terror of driving with people (who know what they are doing) and caravans of trucks sharing the lanes through the mountain passes took my breath away. It was nothing like the Sockland Bus Express runs. We passed by soggy fields, vineyards, orchards and cattle ranches. The mountain vista views with deep colored green valleys were spectacular. I screamed Stop to my driver when I saw a Denny's Restaurant sign. I knew it was the big Grand Slam day! I laughed when I saw the waitresses wearing really funny shirts that said A Great Day To Be An American and A Tough Day to Be A Chicken? Sully called me on his break to let me know that Will had been on his 10:00 run. He just entered the Sock Bank and hoped this would be a good day to find his sock. He promised Sully to follow the rules. I am starting to miss my friends. I hope they get the valentines I sent."

A Star is Born

"I hope you all were able to see the commercial I filmed for the Kia Sorrento Super Bowl ad in Vegas on TV tonight. What a blast I had filming this ad! I have already had calls and hope some of this attention will lead to more work for me.

My ride from Las Vegas to Palm Springs went really fast. There was so much to look at and driving by huge mountains really caught my attention. I finally got to see a desert up close. Remember I had to miss the trip to Red Rock Canyon a few days ago. I thought deserts were suppose to be dry, but there has been a lot of rain around here. I have been told by people who live here that in early March the desert will be quite colorful with blooms because of all the rain. I wish that I could see this but will be off on other adventures.

Palm Springs is quite the place with huge palm trees and flowers. It is surrounded by mountains with snow covered tops. Snow made me think of home and I just had to call Sully. He was so excited to see me on TV and he loved watching the game with all the funny ads. He hoped I was having fun and taking lots of pictures. I assured him I already had a lot pictures, but was having some computer problems and would not be able to post them till Tuesday. I told him all about the Joshua Tree Park and the different kinds of cactuses I have seen. I even got a very funny picture of myself sitting on a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was parked next to our car. Sully said Will is planning to return to the Sock Bank this week. He hoped the Sock Security would not give him anymore trouble."

Left Behind

"I did not feel well yesterday and was left behind. I guess I should have been resting more since my arm hurt a lot. The cast even makes my arm feel itchy especially with this dry air. My traveling companions felt it best if I took a day off from sightseeing to rest so I can enjoy the rest of the trip. They went on a hike to the Red Rock Canyon in the Mojave Desert. The elevation ranges from 3,000-6,000 feet. They even saw some snow in the desert which is rather unusual. They took some great pictures I thought I'd share with you. The rock formations were very cool looking. I know I would have liked seeing all of this. That evening I also had to miss a night out on the town. I felt very sad to be left behind. But I spent most of the afternoon by the pool enjoying the sun. I got another call from Sully who assured me things were going well and there were no new problems.

Today we are leaving for California. Sounds like a long car ride. But I am looking forward to new adventures especially since I am well rested!"

This Town Rocks

Take note that on my first day in Las Vegas I was lucky to get my sling off. Now I have a cast which makes life so much easier. Also my forehead stitches are healing quite nicely. The doctor did scold me a bit when he heard about the recent photo I posted of me hanging out in an orange tree. He kept saying how this could cause an accident. But I was just having fun outside enjoying the sun with no snow or ice to be seen. I have posted pictures of my fun day out on the town. I did have some trouble in the casinos. I found it difficult due to my small size to reach the keys. I was lucky my traveling companions were able to help me out. But I was unlucky since I never won once!

I got some really good news from Sully. He called to tell me that my friend Will was doing much better. After a stern lecture from the Captain of the Sock Security about the need to follow the rules he was released. But the bad news is he would not give Will his sock back. Now this means another trip to the Sock Bank for Will.

Commotion at the Sock Bank

Part Nine:

Rocky Socky had a bit of wait at the airport for his departing flight. He decided to call Sully to see if there were any problems with The Sockland Express. He was lucky to catch Sully who was on his break. "Hey Sully, how is everything going?"

"Great now after the disaster on Friday!"

"What... what happened?" he stammered in a very worried voice.

"It all started when I took over for you on the return trip from the Sock Bank. I parked outside the bank waiting for the passengers to finish up inside. All of a sudden I see Will burst out the door waving something in his hand, running toward the bus with the sock security close behind."

"Then what happened?" asked Rocky Socky.

"Seems like Will caused quite the commotion inside. As he was searching the recycling bin looking for a matched pair, he spied his missing soccer sock. But it was at the very same time another man had just grabbed the sock for himself. The two of them began a real tug of war. Will being determined and I might add stronger, snatched the sock from his hand and ran out the door. The man's yelling caught the attention of the sock security. And then the chase began. The sock security grabbed Will by the arms and dragged him to the Sock Security building near the bank."

"But couldn't you do something? asked Rocky Socky in an alarmed voice."

"I tried, but they kept saying over and over rules are rules. He did not follow them. And then came the worst part... they arrested Will!"

A loud voice came over the loudspeaker All passengers for flight #528 boarding at gate 47G.

"I gotta go Sully, call you later," yelled Rocky Socky in a loud voice over the noise.

The thought of Will being arrested was quite troubling to Rocky Socky as he boarded the plane.

The Reveal

Part Eight:
As you can see from the photo Rocky Socky has made a vacation decision. After a brief stop in Las Vegas he will be traveling to California. His travels will be updated on this blog as well as Sully’s adventures with The Sockland Express.
