This week is the 95th annual Children's Book Week, a nationwide event that connects young readers with authors and illustrators.
Established in 1919, Children’s Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Every year, commemorative events are held nationwide at schools, libraries, bookstores, homes — wherever young readers and books connect. Events are being held in all 50 states for the first time this year, at schools, libraries, bookstores and more.
The week is dedicated to helping cultivate a lifelong love of reading for kids. It's presented by The Children's Book Council and Every Child a Reader.
