Pi is a mathematical constant whose value is approximately 3.14159. Hence this Pi day is celebrated on March 14th. The reason being 3, 1, 4 are the digits in Pi, March is the third month of the year and 14 is the day. The term Pi is a Greek word and is denoted by the symbol “π” which is used to represent a constant. It is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, which is approximately 3.14159.
