- It's made with only 5 ingredients.
- It’s made in about 5 minutes.
- It’s flexible with the variety of fruit that can be used (so it can be made with what’s on hand).
- The recipe can easily be adjusted for less (or more) servings.
Frozen raspberries were used, but you can use what you enjoy best. Other delicious options are frozen strawberries, cherries, blueberries, pineapple or mango.
Just keep in mind that different varieties of fruit will have varying degrees of sweetness (which will impact the overall flavor of your frozen drink). The recipe is from girlheartfood.com and makes 4 drinks.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound frozen raspberries
- 1 cup cold orange juice
- 1 cup crushed ice
- ½ to ¾ cup cold water, or more for a looser or thinner consistency
- 6 ounces vodka
- ¼ cup simple syrup, or to taste
- Orange slices, garnish to taste (optional)
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until combined. Divide slushy between four glasses and garnish (if desired) with an orange slice. Serve and enjoy!
- Note: If you want things on the thicker side, use ½ cup of cold water. Add more if you want things looser or thinner.
And you'll want to serve this fun appetizer with your slushy.
Ham Cornbread Toppers
The recipe makes 12 appetizers/mini sandwiches. I like using Famous Dave Cornbread product because it has a hint of sweetness which pairs well with ham and cheese.
Cook's Notes:
I saw this photo online and knew it could be recreated quite easily with such few ingredients. It turned out to be the perfect platter for my husband's pickleball party. The platter did come back with one left 😁 saved for me. But the rest went fast I
was told.
- 1 box of famous Dave's Cornbread Mix
- Deli ham
- Swiss Cheese
- Mustard Dijon or Homey Mustard
- Cherry Tomatoes
Directions:
- Follow the directions on the box for 12 muffins using the suggested ingredients and baking time. Use paper cupcake liners.
- Cool muffins and use a serrated knife to slice corn muffins.
- On one side of the muffin spread mustard top with cheese and ham and place other muffin top on.
- Use a toothpick to secure a tomato.
Both of these recipes are brand new to me! Can't wait to try them! Visiting via SSPS #274.
ReplyDeleteGreat job, well done. Love the slushy but may have to sub the vodka with something else.
