Waldoch wrote this book with the hope of helping to lighten the load for those who struggle with body insecurities of all sizes and shapes. The narrative reads like both a diary and a memoir. The reader gets a glimpse into Waldoch's life as she faced a life-altering car accident, bipolar diagnosis, family dysfunction issues, body issues, and year-long counseling to support her healing journey.
Humor and music are added components where Waldoch's creativity shines with original parodies set to familiar melodies. One of my favorite parodies was based on a relatable experience for many: the frustration of shopping for swimsuits. Her fictional stories encourage laughter and reflection, taking readers along on her journey as she tries to fit all the pieces together, learn to love herself again for who she is, and rejoice in how far she has come in life.
My admiration for Waldoch knows no bounds. Her courageous story is written with honesty, exposing her vulnerabilities and endearing herself to readers, offering rays of hope for those facing similar issues.
