Candy Cane Hershey Kisses Blossoms

Here's a great festive cookie recipe just in time for your holiday baking. It is a spin on the traditional peanut butter blossoms. The recipe can be found on the back wrapper of Kisses candy cane. I made a few adaptations.
Makes 2 dozen cookies or more depends on how small or large you roll the dough balls
Ingredients:
  • Hershey  Kisses Candy Cane Brand
  • 1 stick of softened butter ( I used 1/4 cup margarine and 1/4 cup butter-recipe called for either)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 TB. milk
  • red or green sugar crystals
Directions:
  • Beat margarine/butter, sugar, egg and vanilla
  • Stir flour, salt and baking soda in another bowl
  • Blend flour mixture with egg/butter mixture and alternate with milk until blended
  • Put dough in freezer for one hour or refrigerate a few hours till well chilled
  • Preheat oven 375
  • In a bowl pour out green or red crystals
  • Shape dough into 1 inch balls (in photo mine were a bit larger)
  • Roll each ball in colored crystals
  • Place balls on ungreased cookie sheet
  • Bake 8-10 minutes or till bottoms are browned and cookie set
  • Remove cookies to wire rack
  • After 3 minutes add unwrapped Hershey kiss to each center of cookie

  1. Interesting on the two words. I'd never thought of this.

Also, those cookies sound delicious. Perhaps a new recipe to add to the holiday mix.

Do you have an easy, fail-proof and savory wild rice and chicken soup recipe you could either email or direct me to? Thanks.
