Northwoods Art and Book Festival Part Two

The arts came to Hackensack on a sunny August day. The Northwoods Art and Book Festival is known for its high quality original art pieces in a variety of art media that includes paint, clay, fiber, metal, wood, jewelry and photography.

Some popular sites were Loides Oils and Vinegars
and yummy breads baked by Linnea in her outdoor pizza oven.
Children's Art Area offered artists a space to work and indulge in a little TAT (short for tattoo)painting.
Unique to this art fair is the popular books arts section where authors sell signed copies of their books. Book selling was in several locations besides the church location posted yesterday. Colin Mustful, Minnesota author and historian of Grace at Spirit Lake, shared his knowledge of Native American history against the sunny skies with festival goers.
While Minnesota author, Mark Munger, found a cooler spot inside the community building to share copies of his new book Boomtown .
And here I met up with a writer, editor and artist Maggie Fuller from Brainerd.
Jan and Tim Marr entertained festival goers with lively tunes
while many munched on a popular festival special: Walking Tacos or Taco Bag sold by the Lions group.

  1. Now you are enticing me even more to want to attend this festival. It looks like something I would definitely enjoy.

    What is tat painting, though?
