I do believe they saved the best to last. This city has the most stunning architecture filled with history,
Examples of Guild Homes built int he 1600's where they would meet and are now used for a variety of offices and shops.
Antwerp City Hall located in Market Square. It was built in 1565 and is one of the best examples of a belfry in Europe. The building is currently under construction.
Hard to believe but this is the train station, stunning outside and inside.
Cathedral of Our Lady-Baroque style and is the home to three commissioned works by Peter Paul Rubens.
There is no shortage of chocolate shops

cafes as they love them as much as French no matter what the weather (it was 40 degrees) they are bundled up and enjoying their espressos.

Antwerpse Handies
They are chocolates with or without marzipan filling dipped in Elixir d Anvers and made in the shape of a hand and refer to the legend of Silvius Brabo and the giant Druoon Antigoon. Of course I had to buy a box.
Well I guess all trips have endings so as they say in Dutch Vaarwel.
What an adventure we have had.
