Photo of Mr.C and Bella on this past Tuesday-they were faithful walking buddies
Bella has given me permission to write her last blog and it's our tribute to a very loving dog who all along thought she was really a person in a dog's body.
Today we made a heart wrenching decision to put Bella down. Her health has been steadily declining as well as weight loss. This week everything seemed to spiral out of control with weakness in her limbs, loss of appetite, disorientation, bumping into things and severe pain making even the last day or two difficult to walk. No definitive answer on why the pain and confusion just speculations. Interesting to note all her blood tests were in the normal range.
Bella had a good run of 10 years with us. Her spirit permeates every space and corner of the house as well as the yard. She made her presence known.
She will be remembered for her dedication to yard guard patrol as she kept watch from her hole
her adventurous spirit collecting many woodland treasures
always being first on the boat
a stellar companion on road trips making sure Mr. C went the correct way
how she coveted her orange ball
enjoyed treats from Mrs. S's friends
her bed
visits to Mulligan's house
Sadie and Luna visits
enjoying boat rides with Bryan
celebrating with Jenny
Chris for his rawhide bone treats for the gang at our house
And if you are wondering Bella did get her last ride of the boating season last weekend with Mary Pat, Peter and Lulu.
Last but not least- a shout out to
with thanks for getting Bella's official start in Texas blogging The World According to Bella in 2009
Bella was "an old soul" with a big heart. She leaves behind for us wonderful memories but a void that can never be filled. The lake was her happy place.
Bella thanks all her fans who read and commented on her blogs. Mrs. S thought Bella had even more likes on FB than her recipes.
Love from Mrs S and Mr. C and Bella in "spirit"
I am so sorry to hear about Bella's passing. She clearly won the lottery when you picked her as your animal companion. I always looked forward to reading "her" blogs in the WWN.
ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss. We enjoyed her travels, as I’m sure she did. You gave her a full life and she returned that with love.
