Art Crawl and Creations at the Lake

This past weekend was the Annual 12th The Arts of 84 Art Crawl. Its a 31-mile art touring event held in various locations along State Highway 84, between Pine River and Longville. MN.
Art’s Off 84 mission is to promote works of local artists and provide an art presence to the Pine River, Longville and surrounding areas. This juried event features high end art forms as well as quality handcrafted items. There were some 60 artists spread out in 5 locations over 25 miles. What a great way to spend part of a beautiful sunny day browsing and admiring the work of such talented artists. There was something for everyone.
  

Besides a variety of arts there was food, music, a place to create kid art and explore.

Creations @The Lake

This stop is not part of the Art Crawl but is held the same day. Each year we save this last stop to the end. The lake home of Jim and Jennifer Lewis situated on 80 acres which in this area equates to a very big piece of property.

Jennifer is an avid quilt maker as well as a master gardener with her husband. He is quite artistic in his own right. He has constructed whimsical creations scattered about  the property as well as other small buildings. In each building an artist-in residence was selling their art.

Jennifer's stunning quilts were displayed throughout the property. Each year many new ones are added to her collections. The quilts vary in pattern, design and color with superb craftsmanship. I had to make choices which ones to post as there were at least 40 some. 

If I had to choose this one above would be a favorite. 
Creations @The Lake-such a lovely display of craftsmanship with pride in ownership right down to the landscaping, buildings and all the quilts.
